Ray calls out the "majority elite liberal" Democrats in the Maine legislature, as well as Republican Jim Campbell of Newfield, who votes with the Democrats on issues Republicans should be standing against. It's time for the people of Maine to take a stand and say enough is enough.

Ray,
How can one be a majority and elite at the same time?
We, the majority, elected the Democrats.
No one wins an election by only garnering the elite vote.
A definition of elite is a small dominant group in some dictionaries.
So chill out man.
Life is good in Maine,it just costs more. Everything worth having usually does.
I agree with you that people should get involved and hold their elected officials to task. That is what democracy is about.
We just have different ideas on what the needs are.
By the way,
When Empire falls was filmed in Skowhegan, did they get a tax break ? Just wondering.
I understand what you mean Ray. In 2006 the Dems got out their base, anti Bush&War, the R's stayed home. Not this year. Not with these state issues. I was working, voting, but not really active politically, for the last ten years. Last year I got involved with those referendum petitions(3). I heard what the R's were saying, the Dems, and even the I's. I have the time, experience, and the energy to run&win. My name is on this year's ballot 6/10/08.
Henry,
Do you think Peaks Island got shafted when they were not allowed to leave Portland?
Bruce, not at all- they wanted representation befitting their level of taxation. 62% of island voters turned out last Nov. and elected a 7 member island council. It's a compromise, Democracy in action. As long as the state, city of Portland, and the islanders are in agreement no one gets "shafted", right?
Right
Just wondering what your thoughts were.
Good questions on the Maine Public Radio call in yesterday.
But it was the state legislative committe who turned down the bill.
7-5 in May 07
Our last Island, before Chebeague,
was allowed to secede even though they have no year long residents or any semblance of what would constitute a town.
If you had been on the legislative comittee how would you have voted on that Peaks Island bill? Yes or No ?
Bruce,-Yes-
If it's just a question of letting them secede or not, I would have voted yes.
I don't have time to listen to MPR. Don't take that the wrong way. If I didn't have web access, I wouldn't be able to keep tabs on Ray&Ted either.:)
