Ray, Kevin Crocker mentioned some of this on his Sat. 5/3/08 broadcast. They cut Dean Scontros off in mid-sentence, very tacky. As a candidate and alternate, I should have been there. But I needed to work at my new job days, and continue door to door nights. You want a common theme and purpose? Cut Spending! ME Heritage came up with $217Mil. Follow OPEGA's advice we could make it $300Mil-per year in doable cost cutting. Maine residency requirements for all non-emergency goodies and giveaways. Many of these savings must be applied to our $12Bil debt load. Let's not forget the state retirement fund which is short $4.7Bil. Let's get rid of those ridiculous, redundant, or unenforceable "nanny state" laws. This short list does not come from me, it comes from those I wish to serve as Legislator. FYI- Many Dem's in this district, share our frustation with the lack of priorities and vision in Augusta.
Ray, Right on you are. King should have said if you can't read, you might end up ( the old standby)flipping burgers, or in Fox media.
King did not use the word "stupid". You did and continue to do so frequently.
There is a difference between ignorant and stupid. Learn it. Not knowing how to read does not mean someone is necessarily stupid. You seem to think so though. Also, being proficient in reading is not cut and dry. People read at different levels. Hw was not saying that enlisted people in Army were totally illiterate. He is not running for public office, so I am sure he is not worried about your rants and I am sure that the organizations that have benefited from his philanthropy would forgive him for this minor slip.
Ray, I just read that your model state New Hampster is expecting at least a 91 million dollar budget shortfal this year and possibly over 200 million for next 2 years. That from march 29 Union leader article
Even with their $1.50 toll for 13 miles of route 95. Go figure.
Mass, your other model state is looking at 1.2 Billion 4.2% Along with at least 25 states who are predicting big budget shortfalls totaling 40 billion in 2009 at 4% of budget, we are not looking too bad compared to Arizona with 1.9 billion and 17% of their budget.
We want to know what you think. Your written responses to Ray's audioblog posts are encouraged. Click on the "Comments" tab in the lower-right-hand corner of every post for a chance share your opinion.
I live in Westbrook with my wonderful wife Dee Dee and our four children. We have been residents of Maine for a little over 22 years, moving here from Florida in 1985.

Glad to see they had a Planned Parenthood booth and a reproductive health care booth set up at Convention.
