Talk about a political football: Ray and Ted sparred over remarks President-Elect Barack Obama made on "60 Minutes" regarding college football needing a playoff system. Ray thinks Obama has enough to worry about without poking his nose into collegiate athletics.

Elias Thomas of the Sanford-Springvale Rotary was in the studio today to talk about his organization's efforts to eradicate polio from the face of the earth.
As always, Ray and Ted fielded calls from audience members to get their opinions. Today's callers included State Rep. Doug Thomas, who weighed in with his concerns about federal money for home heating assistance in Maine, which has doubled since last year.

Did you really mean that last part about President Elect Obama and college football? I went back and checked out you and Ted's exchange on that. You cannot possibly believe that he is going to take the time to try and delve into college football as President, do you? Wow. He was asked a question, he answered the question because he has an opinion...just like most every other college football fan in this country. As for the comment about throwing his weight around on it....did you not catch the tongue that was firmly planted in his cheek?
Oh, wait, I get it...you were just trying to see if anyone would bite and try and debate this, right? Of course, I just fell into the trap. Ya, that's it, I just "took the bait" as it were. Of course, there is no way anybody would or could possibly believe that Barack Obama is going to try and regulate college football...really.

BTW Ray, Cinerama was what Ted was trying to remember , not IMAX
and the jan 17, 1999 show that hit it big for 60 minutes was not about Clinton as you were drooling and hoping for.
The lead story was about spousal abuse in the military.
Can't talk about that stuff now as we are at war and it would be unpatriotic and undermine our military.
Unfortunately the only reasons the ratings were big on both nights had notas much to do with topic or guests as to the fact it hcame on after an overtime football game.
The fans probably forgot they had the channel on and were passed out in front of the screen when the rating guy called and woke them and asked what they were watching.

I was not drooling. If you actually listened, you would have noticed we were trying to figure out what would have been the story of the day.
I guess that got lost on you and others.
By the way, in light of the impeachment in 1998, was it really a stretch to think it might have been Clinton (who was still President) or Ken Starr.
Ken Starr was a stretch, Clinton was not,but you were hoping. I did listen.( you always accuse me of not listening) You just like to forget the statements you make.

Amazing that the main stream ap had to pick it up before our own local stations.
Oak Hill was on this morning and gave a lot of clarity on the E-10 issue.
We are going to do more on this issue as there appears to be a lot of controversy even around the implementation of it.
