And So The Beat Goes On

Ray calls the Market on its fickleness, as the Down Jones Industrial Average shoots up just one day after a record point drop.

Ray,
Hats off to Meredith. She has worked tirelessly throughout our state to help raise awareness of
Breast Cancer and to help raise money for the Maine cancer Foundation.
I have known her for about 11 years. The "Spirit of Life ' named in her honor says a lot about the energy this lady has.

Hopefully many more Mainers will order up this license plate.

Ray ( can i call you Ray?) (what was that all about?)
2 questions
1, How was Gwenn last night? She really let her Obama bias show dontcha tink?
I think Fox succeeded in smearing her credibility enough so she was very timid in her follow up of questions with both candidates, because she knew she would get slammed by the fair and balanced group.

2 Tell us more about the "Bork debacle" you mentioned this morning. I assume you remembered it because Biden mentioned his role last night.
Are you talking about the Bork who wrote books on how trial lawyers and personal injury lawsuits were ruining our country?
I know you are busy, so take your time replying.
Actually 3 things. How come you have not been asking questions about the jogger who was hit yesterday? Are you going to blame it on him like you normally would?

Bruce,

My friend, you need to listen to what I say, not your prepared questions that have already been answered.

I gave Gwen Ifill credit right out of the gate this morning for doing a decent job as moderator. Although I think they should have disclosed her book and surely she should have told the debate commission about it, she acted in a professional manner and I credited her for it.

I have written extensively and spoken extensively about Judge Bork. My friend Jeff Lord wrote a wonderful book about what I call the "Borking of America." Jeff was in the Reagan adminstration when they "borked" Judge Bork. He was a frequent contributor to my show when the SCOTUS confirmations were going on.

I believe Judge Bork was completely qualified to be a Justice. He had the experience and the education to be effective. The Senate, under the Constitution, is supposed to provide its advice and consent with respect to Judicial appointments. Their default position is to support the President's decision unless credible evidence shows that one is un-qualified for the position. Additionally, it has been the long courtesy of the Senate to extend this support.

Bork was denied because of what they perceived to be his beliefs.

That is not the standard set forth in the Constitution nor supported by The Federalist and other documents that chronicle the debate around the Constitution.

The United States' Senate abused its power with regard to Robert Bork and the country idly sat by and allowed it.

They attempted to do the same with Justice Thomas, but we learned from the Bork event and fought back with an organized effort that let the Senate know they would not "bork" Thomas. They almost did anyway.

I do not have the facts of the jogger situation. Once again, you mis-state what I have said.

I have not hit anyone with my car. I have talked very passionately about the idiots that jog on busy streets at night in the rain with dark clothing.

We have an idiot that rides his bike to work or somewhere every morning at 6:00am on Warren Ave. Everyday, he rides in dark clothing, holding a cup of coffee.

Every day he weaves back and forth, particularly when climbing the hill as he only has one hand on the bike. He weaves into the driving lanes and he does this rain, shine, lighter days, darker days and worse, foggy days.

A litle while back, I almost hit him in the fog. He had on black or dark clothing, no reflector, holding his coffee and weaving in and out of the lane. The fog was thick and I did not see him until the last second.

He is a moron. He will probably get hit by someone, someday.

And ..... the person that hits him will have to live with it because he is a moron.

I ask that people use common sense.

I know liberals hate that because common sense means someone fends for themselves and is not dependent on being told by the government or other liberals what to do.

Common sense dictates that you wear light clothing when its dark, have a reflector on your bike and not weave in and out of traffic, particularly in the fog.

Now I know you will have some dumbass opinion on this with zero facts, so lay it on me .... why am I wrong about the poor little biker boy.

Is it because George Bush has cause gas to be so high that he cannot afford to drive to his destination and therefore, I who pay taxes to support the road should just pull off and let him have it because he is oppressed by the evil Bush?

Oh I just remember you complaining about some joggers or walkers on your way home from the Wilton Blueberry Festival.
As for Gwenn disclosing her book. I think everyone watching the debate probably knew she was writing a book and it is not entirely about Obama as you guys want to portray it as.

As For your man Bork,( Fine man) You did not mention this. The one who wrote the book about how personal injury lawsuits and trial lawyers are ruining America. I guess he tripped while stepping up to the podium to deliver a speech at Yale. Ended up blaming Yale for it and filed a personal injury lawsuit for more than a Million dollars actual damages and unspecified punitive damages for
their "wanton ,willfull and reckless disregard.." Among the damages claimed was "pain and suffering'.
It was settled out of court with details private of course.
Yep just another conservative hypocrite. Sometimes things do turn out right, like him not getting on SCOTUS

Don't have time to watch your whole show. have to go to work.
