Nothing beats a good cigar

What business is it of the Maine legislature what kind of cigars Mainers enjoy? No business at all, you'd think, but Ray reveals that the legislature is banning the sale of flavored cigarettes and cigars.

Ray, this certainly seems odd. Does the legislature offer any explanation for this law? Is it to discourage kids from smoking? What would they say is the reason for doing this?

I have spoken to several legislators today (as you might imagine, they are getting some calls) and none of them remembered this vote.

Originally, there was a proposal to change the way these items were taxed. We argued about that at the time.

With so many bills, I simply must have missed the change on this one.

I am sure it has to do with children. Doesn't it always?
