You might think its great but not all towns will save money. Ours is taking it on the chin.(Mechanic Falls)All the state did was downsize its commitment to the town and left the property tax payers to pick it up. Thanks love your show

There is no question that the rural communities typically feel that public policy is crafted without much consideration for their concerns.
Without that said, this legislation has a couple of features that are important and they give you the power you need to make sure that this does not become a failure for your community.
One, you must vote on the partnering of your district.
Two, for the next three years, your school budget must be voted on at the ballot box. After the three years, you can opt out of voting or continue.
These two critical pieces put the power where it rightfully belongs, in the hands of "we the people."
