She is a good speaker, as most politicians are.
She did forget to mention she was for the bridge during her campaign and she pulled the plug after Congress had been discussing it and the lower 48 became aware of that poster child for pork.

I thought she was a little condescending, not that it is not allowed. of course Biden will not be allowed to be when dealing with her.

Demeaning Obama's work as a community organizer?
We should be applauding anyone who graduates with a skill that is in demand, even lawyers, and instead of running to the highest bidder of their talents, goes to help the community in any way for lots less money.

Being mayor of a town with a high school that earned the nickname of a "droput factory in 2006
is not what I would call a proud accomplishment.I guess teaching abstinence was more important than trying to keep kids in school.

The question, since apparently the media and the liberals want to rake her over the coals for everything her life has stood for, is simply this. What has Barack Obama done that makes him more qualified to be President than Sarah Palin?

If you match up their qualifications, in a concrete, fact based manner, what has Barack Obama done that makes him so much more qualfied to be President than Sarah Palin?

He has spent 174 days actually in the United States Senate.

He was a State Senator in Illinois.

Can you imagine any one of our current State Senators in Maine being considered Presidential timber because of their work in Augusta?

I am not saying he is not a good person, a good husband or a good father. I am sure he is all those things. I am also sure he would be a great neighbor who would be fun to have a cookout with or go to a ballgame with.

Politically, what has he done that makes him more qualified than Sarah Palin? If you look at the facts, the answer is .... nothing.

"Qualified" ?

As you know, we never know how qualified anyone is until they take the job on.
Prior performance on something else is not always a good indicator.
"Abraham Lincoln served in the Illinois Legislature for four terms, but at the national level, he served only two years in House of Representatives". I guess he would not be considered very "qualified" to lead our country.

Being a lefty I will go for Barack and Biden
being from the right ,you will go for McCain and Palin
We make a lot of noise about who is more "qualified" but it boils down to who we agree with on the issues which may be near and dear to our us.

Bruce,

You are right. It is the issues that matter and frankly the qualifications are clearly spelled out in the Consitutition, which all four candidates appear to meet.

Much as been made in the media about Palin being qualified. I understand that those who are not familar with her might feel that way, but before "Legitimate" media starts dishing the "qualified" standard, they ought to look into her performance in Alaska.

They should also hold all candidates to the same standard.

Palin's "qualfications" are certainly as legitimate as Obama's yet the lamestream media does not dare talk about him in such tones.

Fox does
But I guess Fox should not be considered in the real media world. Is that what you are saying or are you including them?
Did you see Barack in "The No Spin (except for Oreilly)Zone?

McCain wanted to surprise everyone with his pick and he did. The media had to catch up quick on her background. They did not have the normal months to air out the dirty laundry, so it all happened rather quickly.
I actually believe he handled it the way he did on purpose knowing the media would jump on this and then his group could cry foul
It worked for awhile.

As for "experience" The right have been harping on Obama about this for months, so her "experience" is fair game too. It has all been compressed into a few days so far.

Now we get on to the debates.

I only wish Tim Russert was alive to see this one. I will miss his infectious enthusiasim for the democratic process

Russert was one of a kind and he would have loved every minute of this.

I simply do not trust Barack Obama. It basically comes down to that for me.

He is a liberal and I do not trust liberals.

NOTE: distinction between liberals and democrats ... big distinction.

Since you brought up trust.
I do not trust the evangelical right wing christian, social conservatives.
Big distinction between them and the Grand Old Party.

On a lighter note
I se Bill(Bozo) Oreilly , Fox entertainment, thinks it is a failure of parenting when Brittany Spears sister gets pregnant ,but not so when the Righteous Sarah Palin's daughter does.
What do you expect from a pontificating showman.
For the record
I think Fox on the right, and MSNBC on the left, are entertainment stations and calling them news networks is a huge misnomer.
I do enjoy Oberman when he rails on Billo though.
