having a diaalogue about immigration and illegal aliens are a good thing. yes there is a broad consensus on that and that it is a problem. I say nail the employers that hire theese people without proper documentation.
And yes ray we should be able to keep track of them once they are here, that takes money, what tax do you want to raise to pay for it. You did not have a funding plan in your diatribe
I really question that statistic cited by Rep Steve king of 12 a day killed by illegal aliens.
Can you verify that from another source? As you always say facts are important.
Why is common belief on the issue a problem? There are solutions everywhere, we simply lack the leadership to enact them.
Yes, we should absolutely crack-down on the businesses that hire illegals. If the illegals are truly coming here for the work and not the welfare, if you dry up the jobs, they will not come.
You don't really believe we spend government money efficiently, do you? Why do we have to raise a tax to secure our borders and enforce our immigration policies? The amount of money we are spending on giving illegals welfare benefits would easily fund such an operation as the estimates are conservatively pegged at 10 billion a year and liberally pegged at 25 billion a year.
No one, other than for emergency medical care, should be allowed to enter our nation and go on welfare. It is immoral and only pandering politicians who lack principles or a deep love for this nation would allow such a thing.
We can make allowances for those who are seeking political assylum, but those allowances should be for them to get a start, not a permanent way of life.
People should not be allowed to enter our country, other than political assylum reasons and go on government benefits ... other than emergency medical care.
State Rep. Scott Lansley stated that 12 Americans were killed day by illegals. He did not cite his source on air, but I saw that he was reading it from a website devoted to immigration reform.
If you think about it, it is not unreasonable to believe it. Between car accidents and tradtional crimes, it is not a stretch to believe such a stat.
The fact is, the people need to lead on this issue, just as we did last year to kill the amnesty bill being floated by McCain-Kennedy.
My above comment regarding welfare benefits for illegals includes the cost of their children attending our schools.
The 10 to 25 billion figure includes any and all government money spent on illegals in America.
