Monday on the Morning Show

Portland Mayor Ed Suslovic was on the show today. He talked about Question 1 on the Portland ballot, which would establish a charter commission for the city, and he took calls from audience members.

Also, Donna Champman from Operation Homefront joined the show to talk about some of her organization's current projects, including getting furnaces for some military families, and putting together 100 Thanksgiving baskets. If you or someone you know can help out, contact Donna at 207-321-1321.

Today's show also continued the ongoing conversation about Barack Obama, whom Ray accuses of harboring socialist tendencies.

Ray discusses his guests, Barack Obama, and other issues of the day in the audio post below. Listen now, check out more Morning Show segments, and weigh in with your own opinions in the comments section.

Froma political speech today "Now, I don't believe that government can or should try to solve all our problems. I know you don't either. But I do believe that government should do that which we cannot do for ourselves – protect us from harm and provide a decent education for our children; invest in new roads and new science and technology. It should reward drive and innovation and growth in the free market, but it should also make sure businesses live up to their responsibility to create American jobs, and look out for American workers, and play by the rules of the road. It should ensure a shot at success not only for those with money and power and influence, but for every single American who's willing to work. That's how we create not just more millionaires, but more middle-class families. That's how we make sure businesses have customers that can afford their products and services."
Sounds good to me

Sarah must be a socialist :

...a four-figure annual check to every man, woman, and child in the state. One of the reasons Palin has been a popular governor is that she added an extra twelve hundred dollars to this year’s check, bringing the per-person total to $3,269. A few weeks before she was nominated for Vice-President, she told a visiting journalist—Philip Gourevitch, of this magazine—that “we’re set up, unlike other states in the union, where it’s collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.”

Socialism and spreading the wealth seems to work in Alaska.

Hats off to Sen Stevens for carrying on the tradition of the Party that puts itself forward as the one with the Moral compass

5 siting Senators have been convicted of felonies. he is the fifth.

4 of them republicans.

I realize you think Democrats are good because they hand out tax dollars, but both sides are corrupt and are influenced by being paid, whether directly which is illegal, or through campaign contributions which is immoral.

If you were listening this morning, you heard me say my faith was restored because Ted Stevens was convicted yesterday. With the way things had been draggin out, I was afraid he would get off.

It sends a message that elected people are not special, nor are they above us regardless of what they personally believe.

Obama may win and the Senate Ds may get sixty votes. If both occur, it is the consequence Republicans suffer for abandoning their principles.

Congressional Republicans have become what they said they loathed.

While I hope Obama loses and I hope the Senate Ds fail to get sixty votes, if both occur .... maybe, just maybe the few conservatives left in the Republican Party can re-take the party and restore it to its former stature as the Party of fiscal discipline, individual freedom and self-reliance.

Those ideals are currently on life-support in the Republican Party.

"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely"
I don't believe in mandated term limits for Congress but if ever there was a poster boy for it It is Stevens
And I did hear you this morning.
Good for you
I am still hoping you will see the light and vote for Obama.
