Glorious Sunday Afternoon

As hunting season begins, Ray urges all Mainers who cherish the second amendment to think twice before voting for Barack Obama.

holy sensationalism, Batman! you make it sound like as soon as Obama takes office, the cavalry is going to go door to door to collect every firearm in the US.

Hey,

If Barack Obama is an honest man and I believe he is, he has said we need more gun control laws.

Maybe it is sensationalism when you use the man's words against him, but he said it and I believe it.

He is, afterall, the chosen one.

"Boy, 8, tries out Uzi at Massachusetts gun show with adult's OK, fatally shoots self
Associated Press
Published Monday, October 27, 2008

WESTFIELD, Mass.

An 8-year-old boy died after accidentally shooting himself in the head while firing an Uzi submachine gun under adult supervision at a gun fair.

The boy lost control of the weapon while firing it Sunday at the Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo at the Westfield Sportsman's Club, Police Lt. Lawrence Valliere said.

The boy was with a certified instructor and "was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury," a police statement said. Police called it a "self-inflicted accidental shooting."

The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he died. His name was not released.

Although the death appears to be an accident, police and the Hampden district attorney's office were investigating, officials said.

The club said on its Web site that the event, run in conjunction with C.O.P Firearms and Training, is "all legal and fun." People will be allowed to fire weapons at vehicles, pumpkins and other targets, it said.

Officials with the private club and the firearms group could not be reached for comment. A message left on a club answering machine was not returned. The C.O.P. group's machine clicked off without taking a message.

The sportsman's club was founded in 1949 and describes itself on its Web site as an organization that promotes "the interest of legal sport with rod, gun, and bow and arrow, both directly and through training."

It has eight firing ranges as well as archery and fishing facilities located on 375 acres in Westfield, about 100 miles west of Boston."

yeah, because this country needs no gun control at all.

What does hunting season have to do with having a well regulated militia?

And , I don't know many hunters who need machine guns to hunt. They only need them to get their jollies at shoot em ups and blow em ups sponsored by the NRA.

A gun is never dangerous in the hands of a responsible person.

The adults at that show were obviously not responsible.

More people die in car accidents by about ten fold. Do we take away the cars as well.

Maybe so in our new, nanny-state mentality known as Obamania.

The consequence of freedom is that not everything works out perfectly because we are imperfect people.

I would rather die in freedom than live in Nazi America.

I agree with you 100% on this statement, Ray. But your car analogy doesn't hold up, because a car isn't designed to kill. An uzi is.

"The consequence of freedom is that not everything works out perfectly because we are imperfect people."

I would agree with this statement if Uzi's and similar guns weren't freely sold to anyone who happens to have a clean record.

Ray, do you think people have the right to buy any type of firearm they can get their hands on?

Ray I hope you meant to put an a in front of Nazi
Are you saying we live in a Nazi America?

Your car analogy is ludicrous at best. Because we have terrible public transport in this country, we need cars.
We don't need an uzi in the hands of every American to have a well regulated militia.
Those guys running that show where the kid got killed probably consider themselves competent and expert wwhen it come to guns.

Barack Obama does remind me of Hitler in the following manner.

Germany was under a very difficult economic situation.

America is in a very difficult economic situation.

Hitler was a great speaker.

Obama is a great speaker.

Hitler promised a return to national greatness.

Obama is promising a return to a strong economic time where all Americans are prospering.

Great masses of German people attended Hitler's rallies, swooned over his words and saw him as the savior.

Great masses of American people attend Obama's rallies, swoon over his words and treat him like he is the chosen one.

Once in power, Hitler took the guns and restricted free speech.

If he gets power, Obama will restrict our guns and institute the fairness doctrine.

No, I do not think he will start World War III.

No, I do not think he will kill six million Jews although I do think he will abandon Israel.

Hitler deceived the German people because they were desparate.

Obama, much to my amazement, is telling the American people exactly what he will do and because they fear desparation, they are ignoring the warnings he is giving.

Yes, if you put America and 1930's Germany in context, there are many similarities between the great orator Obama and the great orator Hitler.

I am sure you will scoff at this and attempt to create a conclusion I did not offer, but the truth is, their styles and what they are selling .... HOPE .... are just the same.

Ray Richardson said...

Let's assume you are right .. we don't need uzi's.

Why are they trying to take our hand-guns?

The car analogy is not off-base.

A car is a killer in an irresponsible person's hands, just as a gun is.

People need guns just as they need cars and our gun rights are protected by the Constitution.

By the way, you conveniently leave out the phrase, "the right to bear arms," when you mention a well-regulated militia.

Wonder why?

Bruce said...

Why
Because the militia part is the reason for the second part.
The reason is not for every guy to own an arsenal of weapons to play with.
Hopefully a strict constructionist supreme court will see that in the next 4-8 years.

You gotta love
"The Black belt patriot" Chuck Norris ad.

Spreading fear and telling everyone they should own a gun to protect their families is typical of the RWW
Reminds me of Archie Bunker's solution for airline highjackings.
